What the heck are “the Kootenays”?! 

 

If you haven’t heard about the Kootenays, you must be living under a rock! 

For years, locals have tried to keep this stunning place a secret, but now the secret is out and people are rushing in from all over Canada to enjoy the laid back lifestyle and abundance of natural beauty. 

 

The Kootenays are located in the SE. corner of British Columbia.  Cranbrook and Kimberley are About 4 hours from Calgary, 5 hours from Kelowna and 1 hour from the US border.  Here’s a map for you…..

 

 

 

 

The Kootenays are famous for their abundance of raw wilderness and outdoor recreation opportunities.  If you are looking for a laidback outdoor lifestyle without the crowds, it’s here.

Have you heard of the “Powder Highway”?  That’s here!  Some of the best ski resorts anywhere are located in the area.  Kimberley, Fernie, Panorama, Whitewater, Red Mountain, Kicking Horse, Revelstoke.  Looking for something more extreme?  We are home to some of the most amazing heli-skiing and cat skiing as well!

 

Are you a golfer?  

 

You’ll be happy to know that we have an amazing assortment of world class golfing all right on your doorstep.  Many of theim are consistently ranked in the top 100 Canadian Golf courses.  Offering inspiring, scenic views of mountain peaks, river valleys, and forested hillsides, the golf courses here are sure to impress!  Bootleg Gap, Cranbrook Golf Club, Kimberley Golf Club, Trickle Creek, Shadow Mountain, St. Eugene, Wildstone….   And those are just the ones that you can get to in 30 minutes or less!
